High Impact Seed Fund of Funds
To strengthen South Africa’s early-stage innovation ecosystem, the SA SME Fund – supported by funding from the Department of Science, Technology and Innovation – partnered with the Technology Innovation Agency (TIA), E Squared and Allan & Gill Gray Philanthropies (AGGP) to establish the High Impact Seed Fund of Funds (HISFoF).
This initiative expands the availability of seed capital for technology entrepreneurs and helps build a long-term, enabling environment for innovation.
HISFoF backs fund managers focused on early-stage technologies, IP commercialisation, and high-potential SMEs, bridging the gap between research, product development, and commercial scale. Building on this foundation, we plan to expand the programme to support climate-tech focused funds, further strengthening South Africa’s innovation pipeline.
